El New Balance 550 'Orange White' aplica una paleta inspirada en el equipo universitario a una silueta retro diseñada por Steven Smith. El cuero blanco en capas se utiliza en la parte superior, en contraste con el tejido naranja en el cuello acolchado de corte bajo. Los acentos cítricos a juego se abren paso hasta la lengüeta de nailon transpirable y el logotipo 'N' en relieve que adorna el panel lateral. La amortiguación liviana es proporcionada por una cuña de EVA, alojada dentro de una suela de goma que hace un guiño a las raíces de madera dura vintage del zapato.
