The Carhartt WIP x New Balance 990v6 has got to be one of the most anticipated collabs of the season. The perfect blend of workwear and sportswear, after getting a sneak peek of it earlier this month, sneakerheads just couldn't get enough of it. Luckily though, a release date has finally been confirmed, and it's coming much sooner than previously expected.
Crafted in the U.S. of A, Carhartt's first take of this chunky silhouette is exactly what you'd expect – and that's a good thing. Working on top of a grey mesh base, it's overlaid by earthy brown panels that pay homage to the label's Detroit jackets and corduroy jumpsuits. Oversized "N" logos feature across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and additional branding comes by the way of "Carhartt Work in Progress," which is proudly stamped on the tongue.
Underfoot, the beige midsole is crafted from ENCAP foam for unrivalled comfort and cushioning. But just in case that wasn't enough, New Balance has also infused it with FuelCell technology. All of this then comes packed in an exclusive shoebox that's made for all of the biggest workwear fans out there.
The Carhartt WIP x New Balance 990v6 is set to land on October 20th. Keep it locked at The Edit LDN for your best chance to cop, and in related news, the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R is actually in the works!
