TOP SNEAKER PICKS OF THE WEEK

We asked Dean, the Growth and Sourcing Director of The Edit LDN team, what his top 5 sneaker picks of this week were.

Pick 1 - Nike Dunk High Syracuse “Orange Blaze”

VIEW ITEM

As part of the “Be True To Your School” pack, Nike released the Dunk High Syracuse. The sneaker first retroed in 2016 alongside others like the Villanovas “Midnight Navy”, Kentuckys, and Michigans. The Syracuse features hints of orange leather contrasted with white leather panels. A white tongue tag along side orange Nike branding is used, whilst a vibrant orange outsole completes the sneaker. Nike Air technology is included, adding that comfortability aspect to the shoe. The iconic Syracuse colourway has also been previously displayed in a low top version.

Pick 2 - New Balance 550 Aime Leon Dore White Grey

VIEW ITEM

Aime Leon dore takes on a collaboration with New Balance on their popular 550 model. The sneaker was released as part of four beautiful colourways from the series. Originally released in the 80s, the 550 not only was popular with top basketball players back then, but the silhouette was much-loved on the streets too for its easy-to-style look. The NB550 maintains its original aesthetic through the use of "N" logos and a model number on the sides of the sneaker. Hits of grey are seen elsewhere; notably on the tongue tags and rubber outsole underfoot whilst the counterparts flaunt the off-white shading for a vintage look.

Pick 3 - Louis Vuitton Trainer Grey White

VIEW ITEM

A favourite of Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Virgil Abloh, the LV Trainers are reinterpreted in Monogram-embossed calf leather. The two-tone design highlights the elaborate construction of this model, which took several hours to stitch. The innovative, gel-injected outsoles are decorated with Monogram Flowers.

Pick 4 - Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo

VIEW ITEM

The Jordan 4 was first worn by Michael Jordan in 1989 in the iconic bred colourway. However, this Air Jordan 4 pays homage to the 'white cement' colourway but with a few tweaks. The Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo uses a white leather and mesh upper accompanied by hits of grey. A red Jumpman logo is embroidered on the tongue contrasting against the white allows it to pop and at the same time makes it noticeable from a mile away. The usually speckled panels use a white hue instead whilst its counterparts display these; being used on the eyelets and the midsole underfoot.

Pick 5 -  Yeezy Slide Enflame Orange

VIEW ITEM

Kanye West, originally a rapper but is now more globally known as an icon in the fashion industry has released yet another colourway of Yeezy slides. Yeezy slides have proven to be popular amongst many Ye fans and sneakerheads. The Yeezy Slide Enflame Orange; a very eye-catchy, summer-friendly colourway is constructed of foam which offers an immediate step-in comfort.
