The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v4 Collection Pays Homage to Hype Williams

Following a brief teaser earlier this month, the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v4 collection has finally been revealed in all its glory. Marking the Chicago-based designer's first take on the silhouette, it's inspired by Hype Williams’ 1998 American crime drama, Belly.

Revealed in three colourways including the "Intro," "Outro," and "Keisha Blue," this 990v4 pack works on top of a mesh base and is overlaid by premium pigskin suede throughout. An oversized "N" logo is stitched across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and along the heel, the usual "990" numbering has been replaced with "JFG" instead. You'll also find the year "1998" printed around the back as a nod to when Belly hit the silver screen, and "Made in the U.S.A." just to remind you that this sneaker has, indeed, been crafted in the Land of the Free.

As well as these trainers, Freshgoods' latest New Balance collab will also feature a selection of apparel and accessories, all influenced by the Williams’ critically-acclaimed film.

An official release date for the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v4 collection has yet to be announced, so make sure you keep it locked at The Edit LDN for everything that you need to know. In related news, the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R “Green” just got covered in Gore-Tex!
