Tackle the Elements in Style With the Aime Leon Dore x New Balance Rainier

From the 550 to the 650R, Teddy Santis is certainly no stranger when it comes to creating spotlight-stealing New Balance collaborations. With that said, the New York City-based fashion designer is taking a break from the hardcourt this season and heading to the hills, as we take our first look at the Aime Leon Dore x New Balance Rainier collection. A hiking-focused model that's almost forty years old, it has been brought back specially for this partnership.

Made for both the city streets and the mountain peaks, the original Rainier was designed with the help of veteran climber Lou Whittaker. Spotted here in three distinct colour options, including brown and green, tan and burgundy, and grey and navy, ALD's rendition of the model is crafted from a combination of nylon and nubuck. It's also lined with Gore-Tex to keep the warmth in and the rain out, and equipped with an extra comfortable Vibram midsole.

Releasing very soon, the Aime Leon Dore x New Balance Rainier will give your gorpcore fits the upgrade that it deserves. Let us know which colourway you're feeling the most, and while you're here, you might as well take a closer look at the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 990v2.
