It's hard to believe that it's been three years since Jerry Lorenzo announced that he was leaving Nike and joining Team adidas. While nothing official has been revealed yet, we're now getting up close and personal with what is allegedly the Fear of God x adidas Rivalry Low 86. Taking on the classic '80s silhouette, the Californian streetwear label has applied its own contemporary twist to it.
Bringing things back to basics, FOG's Rivalry Low 86 is dressed in a premium light grey suede and is decorated with stitched Three Stripe branding across the lateral and medial sidewalls. The thick rope laces are tightened using a rugged toggle switch, which is similar to some of the pairs that you'd find in Lorenzo's core line.
Of course, you can't talk about this trainer without bringing up the very chunky platform sole. Dipped in a creamy, off-white hue for a vintage vibe, it's finished with adidas branding towards the back, and stamped with Fear of God on the heel.
Clean and simple in the best way possible, the Fear of God x adidas Rivalry Low 86 is a must cop. According to our sources, it's set to drop sometime at the end of the year.
