The Next New Balance 2002R "Protection Pack" is Ready for Deployment
It's safe to say that without the original New Balance 2002R "Protection Pack" from 2021, hype for New Balance wouldn't be at the levels that they're at today. While the Boston-based brand was once known for its very chunky, very grey sneakers, this deconstructed collection showed the world that NBs could actually look awesome. And now, two years later, and the second collection is ready to drop.
Unlike the OG range, which focuses on the idea of "modern artefacts," this year's "Protection Pack" goes down a more rugged route. Featuring four unique colourways including "Olive," "Tan," "Navy," and "Sail," the quartet works on top of a ripstop nylon base and is overlaid with jagged suede panels throughout. A toggle switch lacing system introduces a gorpcore vibe, and underfoot, you'll find the beloved ABZORB midsole that's infused with N-ERGY tech for unrivalled comfort and cushioning with every step.
The New Balance 2002R "Protection Pack" 2023 is set to release on September 21st, and is expected to sell out in seconds. Keep it locked at The Edit LDN for your best chance to secure your dream colourway, and in related news, Stone Island just teased its New Balance 991v2 collaboration!
