Kanye West Has Been Working on the adidas Yeezy Samba "Wyoming"
If you ask any sneakerhead what the most popular sneaker of 2023 is, there's a huge chance that they'd bring up the adidas Samba. First released all the way back in the late '40s, the old school silhouette is now more sought-after than ever thanks to big name collaborations from the likes of Ronnie Fieg, Sporty & Rich, and Wales Bonner. That said, in another timeline, the Samba could've been so much more hyped, as we get reports that Kanye West was actually working on his very own pair in the form of the adidas Yeezy Samba "Wyoming."
According to reputable sample collector Chase Sees Ghosts, Ye's Samba was actually first teased all the way back in 2019 when ASAP Bari showed it off on Instagram Story. Featuring an all-black suede construction, the dimensions have been slightly puffed up to fall in line with the chunky aesthetic that was prevalent at the time.
The tongues and heels are both beefed up for a skate-ready vibe, and to the lateral side, "Wyoming" is printed in gold foil as a nod to Kanye's ranch. The gum rubber midsole has also been heightened, and the Yeezy is tied together with a pair of thick rope laces – similar to what you'd find on the Yeezy Boost 350 V2.
Not much else is known about the adidas Yeezy Samba "Wyoming," but judging by how Ye's relationship with adidas ended, we doubt that these will ever see the light of day. However, the JJJJound x adidas Samba collection is coming soon, and that's pretty cool.
