Der New Balance 550 'Orange White' wendet eine von der Uni inspirierte Palette auf eine von Steven Smith entworfene Retro-Silhouette an. Auf dem Obermaterial wird geschichtetes weißes Leder verwendet, das von orangefarbenem Textil auf dem gepolsterten, tief ausgeschnittenen Kragen kontrastiert wird. Passende Zitrusakzente finden sich auf der atmungsaktiven Nylonzunge und dem erhabenen „N“-Logo, das das Seitenteil ziert. Eine leichte Dämpfung wird durch einen EVA-Keil gewährleistet, der in einer Gummi-Cupsohle untergebracht ist, die an die alten Hartholzwurzeln des Schuhs erinnert.
