We asked Fabrice, the Buying and Supply Director of The Edit LDN team, what his top 5 sneaker picks of this week were (in order from least to most favourite).

Pick 1 - Jordan 4 Red Thunder

This sneaker would not typically be my immediate choice of footwear, however the colourway of black and red always works. This is also a cheaper alternative to the Jordan 4 Bred which has gone up in value massively. Jordan 4 has had a great year with Nike and has been battling the Jordan 1 silhouette recently. Jordan 1 is undeniably at the top however the Jordan 4 is not too far behind. Nearly every Jordan 4 that has released in 2021 has sold out instantly and has been hitting serious figures in the secondary market. You can’t go wrong with a black and red colourway and for that reason, the Thunders make it on the list.

Pick 2 - Jordan 1 High Bred Patent

This is an important shoe of recent releases due to it being an OG colourway of Jordan 1s! This also has not been retro’d since 2016, which makes it a bit more special as its has been a few years since we’ve seen the classic colourway being released. This is also the first time Nike have made a patent version of this colourway, which adds a twist to the sneaker.

Pick 3 -  New Balance 550 Rich Paul

New Balance has had an incredible year and has become one of the trendiest sneakers of the past year. The 550’s in particular, has probably taken the throne of the best selling New Balance of 2021. The silhouette is that of a classic one and the collab with Rich Paul in particular, has been in high demand since its release. Rich Paul is included in the elite level of Basketball players and is also a massive sneaker head, so it only makes sense that he was given a chance to collaborate with a leading sneaker brand. The subtle colourway makes this sneaker easy to style and very wearable.

Pick 4 - New Balance 550 Aime Leon Dore

Undeniably one of the hottest releases of 2021, it would be hard not to include this on my top 5 pick. Aime Leon Dore always kills it when collabing with NB. The sneaker is somewhat minimalistic with a beautiful colour. The off-white colourway is balanced with the yellowing/ageing colour of the midsole which goes together so well. The collab released in 3 colorways (Navy, Green, Grey), however the reason I have chosen the grey to be in the top 5 picks is due to it being so easy to pair with your everyday outfits. Great shoe overall and perfect execution by ALD!

Pick 5 - Jordan 1 A Ma Maniere

This sneaker would take the throne for me. I absolutely loved the Jordan 3 they did last year, definitely sneaker of 2021, which remains highly coveted today! In regards to the Jordan 1, the colour way is brilliant. The sneaker features a smooth suede setup in an off white hue, which is a colour that always hits. To add to the shoe, they’ve thrown on a burgundy leather swoosh with a croc/snakeskin like pattern, which looks amazing agains the off white colour.  The coolest touch however is the midsole where it looks aged. This is something AMM do very well and is why I am a big fan of their Nike collars.
