Without a shadow of a doubt, the Air Jordan 5 is one of the most iconic Jordan sneakers ever made. Originally released back in 1990, while Michael Jordan's fifth signature silhouette with the Swoosh certainly isn't as popular as models like the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 4, it still deserves a spot in your collection. If, for whatever reason, you still don't have a pair in your rotation, then you'll be excited to hear the the iconic Air Jordan 5 "Burgundy" is set to make a comeback this year.
Debuted back in 2006, the "Burgundy" is regarded by many sneakerheads to be one of the best AJ 5s ever made. As its name suggests, it's crafted from wine red burgundy suede with mesh netting across the lateral and medial sidewalls. The tongue and laces are dipped in a "Flint Grey" hue, and the rugged toggle switch has been given a clear finish. Underfoot, a flame-like motif shoots through the side of the Nike Air unit. This actually pays homage to World War II fighter jets that Tinker Hatfield was heavily inspired by back in the '90s.
According to our sources, the Air Jordan 5 "Burgundy" will return on September 9th. Set to be one of 2023's biggest and best sneakers, keep it locked at The Edit LDN's dedicated Air Jordan page for your best chance to cop.
