These distinctive Orchard Street Dunks are most notably remembered for their memorable release strategy. In 2003, Orchard Street’s co-founder, Greig Ben- nett, orchestrated the launch of custom- ised Brazil and St. John Dunks in a way that has become legendary. These sneakers were strategically positioned across var- ious locations throughout New York City. The sole means of obtaining a pair was to physically locate them, adding an adven- turous element to the hunt. These shoes were artfully placed on street lamps and traffic lights, and avid sneaker enthusiasts demonstrated their dedication by scal- ing these urban heights in pursuit of their prized finds. Orchard Street undertook the transformation of 40 pairs of the Dunk Hi ‘Brazil,’ crafting a bespoke colour palette. Each shoe underwent a metamorphosis, embracing shades of orange, green, and black. Notably, a section of the rear flaps was deftly modified to enhance the vibran- cy of the orange hue, and the tongue labels underwent a reversal for a unique touch.
