When it comes to the greatest Air Jordan 4 collaborations of all time, the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 "Grey" is widely regarded as the best of the best. With that said, little does anyone know that before this AJ 4 came into fruition, the contemporary artist was working with Jordan Brand on the KAWS x Air Jordan 1 Low. In fact, according to English Sole, this was in development a whole year before the Jordan 4 release - and we're taking our first look yet.
Painted in a crisp "Triple White" colourway, KAWS' take on the Air Jordan 1 Low boasts a tumbled leather construction that's soft and smooth to the touch. The Nike Swooshes across the lateral and medial sides have been completely removed, thus putting the spotlight on the American creative's "XX" motif which graces the heel. Additional artwork is printed on the insole, while the legendary winged basketball emblem is laser etched around the back, finalising the simple yet striking aesthetic.
Only eight pairs of the KAWS x Air Jordan 1 Low were made, and currently there are no plans for a public release. Never say never, right? Let us know what you think of this unreleased sample, and be sure to check out The Edit LDN's dedicated Air Jordan page for the latest and greatest drops!
