It Really Doesn't Get Any Weirder Than MSCHF's Big Red Boots

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past week, you will have heard of MSCHF brand new shoe - the aptly-named Big Red Boots. The Brooklyn-based art collective has released a number of wacky and wild sneakers over the last few years. From a satan-inspired Air Max to a pair of orthopaedic sneakers, this upcoming model still takes the cake as its weirdest one yet.

Taking inspiration from Dora the Explorer's best friend Boots, as well as the footwear worn by Astro Boy, these cartoonish kicks are unlike anything that we've ever seen. As per its name, they're dipped in an all-red colour scheme that's sure to turn heads wherever you go. The upper is crafted from a TPU shell rubber and the collar extends all the way past the wearer's calves. Down below, the midsole opts for an EVA foam construction and is finished with a toothy outsole underfoot, complete with MSCHF's logo carved right in the centre.

In an official statement, MSCHF playfully states, "If you kick someone in these boots they go BOING! You never design shoes to be shaped like feet. Big Red Boots are REALLY not shaped like feet, but they are EXTREMELY shaped like boots."

Sure to be one of the most controversial creps of the year, MSCHF's Big Red Boots are set to go live on February 16th and are guaranteed to sell out almost immediately. Let us know what you think of this silly silhouette, and while you're here, here's everything that we know so far about the adidas Originals x Moncler Genius collaboration!
